Thematic Forum on University Business Cooperation in Warsaw, Poland on 27 November 2013 – Invitation

Dear colleague,

We have the pleasure to inform you that the European Commission in partnership with the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education organise a Thematic Forum on “University-Business Cooperation – Driving Innovation and Growth” in Warsaw on 27 November 2013.

The Forum will bring together around 200 high-level representatives from relevant European organisations and associations, Higher Education Institutions, large companies and SME’s, as well as national, regional and local authorities. This is a unique opportunity to share and discuss experiences and examples of good practice, to network and to learn from one another. The event will begin with a networking dinner in the evening of 26 November. The conference itself will start on 27 November at 09:00 with opening addresses by Professor Barbara Kudrycka, Minister for Science and Higher Education in Poland, Prof. Dainius Pavalkis, Minister of Education and Science in Lithuania (EU Presidency) and Mr Jan Truszczyński, Director General for Education and Culture at the European Commission.

The conference addresses issues related to Entrepreneurship and Higher Education, Institutional Change and University-Business Cooperation, and presents how the current and future European programmes (2014–2020) support and will continue to support activities in these fields. In addition to the official conference, we also propose a training session on HEInnovate the Entrepreneurial Framework for Higher Education Institutions; this framework is an online self-assessment tool for Higher Education Institutions that wish to develop into more entrepreneurial organisations. Participants from higher education institutions are welcome to this session in which the tool and its use will be demonstrated and discussed. It will take place right after the closure of the official conference, from 17:00–18:30.

Should you be interested in participating in the Forum, please let us know. Formal registration to the conference will be possible within shortly via the conference’s website. We will communicate you the web address as soon as it opens.

Please find enclosed the draft programme of the event.

For any question you might have, do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards,

The University Business Forum Team
