CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: PISM AND INSTITUTE FOR EURO-ATLANTIC COOPERATION SEEK POTENTIAL PARTICIPANTS IN A NATO-SUPPORTED WORKSHOP DEVOTED TO ISSUES OF CYBERSECURITY AND CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE

 

The Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM) is administering a NATO grant from the Science for Peace and Security Programme (SPS) to organise a NATO Advanced Research Workshop (ARW) 984708,  The workshop will be held on 30-31 October 2014 in Kiev, Ukraine. PISM analyst Wojciech Lorenz will serve as co-director of the NATO ARW along with Ihor Kozyi of Institute for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation, which is PISM’s partner in the project.

 

The ARW’s theme falls into the programme’s key priority of facilitating mutually beneficial cooperation on issues of common interest, including international efforts to meet emerging security challenges like cyber defence, critical infrastructure protection, including sharing of best practices, capacity building and policies.

 

The objectives of the ARW are as follows: to increase awareness of the threats to critical infrastructure originating in cyberspace; to diagnose the tools to counter the threats and discuss measures to improve the resilience of key networks; to allow cyberdefence-oriented researchers, experts and practitioners from NATO and partner countries to exchange lessons learnt and discuss further cooperation.
